The flowers emerge from the apex, producing lovely displays of colorful flowers with a wide array of patterns. In the late summer to fall months, the foliage will brown and go dormant. By late fall, store the tubers with or without their soil in cool, dry conditions. Typically, by late January to late February, the tubers will be ready to sprout growth again. This species can even be planted in the ground in zones 7a - 9b, but we recommend marking where they are due to their small nature! These are all random in flower type, so once your \u003ci\u003ePonerorchis\u003c\/i\u003e blooms, you may try to match it to one of the commonly described varieties: \u003ci\u003egraminifolia\u003c\/i\u003e,  \u003ci\u003ekurokamiana\u003c\/i\u003e,  \u003ci\u003enigropunctata\u003c\/i\u003e, or  \u003ci\u003esuzukiana\u003c\/i\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAs of Spring 2025, these orchids are sprouting and set to flower between May and June.
