Unlike most orchids, Zygopetalum produce new flower spikes as the new growth emerges, so whenever you see a new growth you know there will be flowers soon!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis species is native to Brazil, where it grows in cloud forests among rock outcrops.  Although the flowers are compact, the plants grow quite tall.
